According to the official website of the Tongzhou Bay River-Sea Integrated Development Demonstration Zone in Nantong, Jiangsu, on March 15, the production facilities for the high-end polyolefin new materials project operated by Lanhai New Materials (Tongzhou Bay) Co., Ltd. were put into operation, marking a new phase in the comprehensive construction of the key facilities for this project. The high-end polyolefin new materials project plans to build 5 new production units. The preparation of the construction site is nearly complete; 29 out of the 47 main units have received official approval. Construction is scheduled to begin on 19 units in March and on 15 units in April, with all units set to be under construction by the end of the first half of the year. According to the public announcement on the project’s environmental impact assessment, the total investment for this high-end polyolefin new materials project is approximately 10.1 billion yuan. The project involves the construction of a 200,000-ton/year FDPE production facility, two 20,000-ton/year EPDM production facilities, a 100,000-ton/year POE production facility, a 100,000-ton/year 1-hexene/1-octene production facility, two 1,000 Nm³/hour electrolytic water hydrogen production facilities, as well as associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities. It is reported that Blue Sea New Materials is a key project of China National Petroleum Corporation aimed at implementing the strategic plans for emerging and future industries, and accelerating the development of the high-end chemical new materials sector.
