Two high-performance transformer oil products independently developed by Fuyou Technology have passed the new product technology appraisal

On July 13, Shenmu Fuyou Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully held a technical evaluation meeting for the new products “FI45X and FI50X transformer oils” in Beijing. This appraisal meeting was organized by the China National Machinery Industry Federation; an appraisal committee composed of over 20 experts from the power and machinery sectors conducted a thorough evaluation and assessment of the two high-performance transformer oil products independently developed by Fuyou Technology. At the appraisal meeting, the expert group heard reports on the development summary of FI45X and FI50X transformer oils, as well as on testing, type testing, technological novelty searches, and technical-economic analyses. After thorough and in-depth inquiries and discussions, the expert group unanimously agreed that the performance parameters of the transformer oil produced from the full distillate of coal tar through hydrogenation meet the requirements of ultra-high voltage AC and DC transformers, and are at the international leading level for similar products; thus, they approved the technical evaluation of this new product. Fuyou Technology’s coal-based high-performance transformer oils are produced using the \"hydrogenation treatment – isomerization for viscosity reduction – hydrogenation stabilization\" process technology. This approach takes full advantage of the characteristic of the raw materials, which contain a high proportion of cycloalkyl structures. By leveraging the company’s world’s first facility capable of producing 500,000 tons per year of cycloalkyl oils through the hydrogenation of low- and medium-temperature coal tar fractions, and through its proprietary industrial technology suite (SM-FU) for producing special alkylic oils from such fractions, it has been possible to manufacture two types of products: ultra-high voltage DC transformer oil (FI50X) and ultra-high voltage AC transformer oil (FI45X). Among them, the SM-FU technology was approved by the Petrochemical Industry Federation in 2022, rated as having \"an internationally leading level overall,\" and has also won numerous provincial and ministerial-level awards for scientific and technological progress. The physical and chemical properties of these two products meet or exceed the requirements specified in GB2536-2011. They have passed **11 performance evaluation tests conducted by the China Electric Power Research Institute, enabling the conversion of coal resources into high-quality special insulating oils. The successful conclusion of this appraisal meeting is the result of Fuyou Technology’s long-term efforts in developing high-end coal-based chemicals and its commitment to independent innovation. Next, Fuyou Technology will take this successful validation of the high-performance transformer oil as a new starting point to accelerate the commercialization and large-scale production of this technology.
