According to a progress announcement disclosed by Dingjide on the evening of October 16, the project was officially put into operation recently, and qualified POE products have been successfully produced. Dingjide stated that the commissioning of the POE industrial production facility represents a milestone in the company’s strategic development, signaling its transformation from a manufacturer of fine chemical additives and catalysts into a diversified enterprise engaged in the production of new materials and fine chemicals. Domestically produced POE materials have long relied on imports, with a relatively low degree of self-sufficiency. The successful commissioning of the Dingjide POE project not only opens up new opportunities for the company’s growth but also provides strong support for ensuring autonomy and control over China’s POE material industry chain. It is understood that Dingjide was established in 2004 and is a high-tech enterprise that offers comprehensive services in research and development, production, and sales of polyolefin catalysts as well as subsequent additives. In September 2023, the company signed an investment agreement to establish Liaoning Dingjide Petrochemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Petrochemical Technology”), which invested in a petrochemical new materials project on Changxing Island in Dalian, thereby entering the high-end POE new materials sector. Currently, Phase I of the project has been put into operation. The overall plan calls for facilities with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year for POE production, 300,000 tons/year for the production of α-olefins from ethane (downstream processes), as well as related utility systems and other supporting facilities. Starting from the ethane-to-α-olefin production facility, this project has developed a core industrial chain of ‘ethane-α-olefin-POE’, featuring coordinated integration and integration of upstream and downstream processes. With the rapid development of industries such as new energy and automobiles, POE will continue to enjoy strong growth momentum. The Dingjide POE high-end new materials project benefits from independently developed catalyst technology and cost advantages resulting from the use of self-produced alpha-olefins; coupled with batch stability provided by imported process equipment, it possesses significant comprehensive competitive advantages. Dingjide stated that its POE pilot samples have been sent to various downstream customers and have received wide recognition in the market. At present, the industrial production facility for POE in the high-end new materials project of petrochemical technology is operating stably, and qualified POE products have been successfully produced. It is worth noting that once the first phase of the project comes online, Dingjide will also initiate the construction of the second phase’s facilities, including a 200,000-ton/year POE production plant, a 300,000-ton/year ethane-to-α-olefins plant (the initial stage of this facility), as well as related utility systems. In addition, the company has long-term plans for facilities such as 400,000 tons per year of liquid polyethylene, 300,000 tons per year of vinyl acetate produced from ethane, 200,000 tons per year of POE, olefins produced through carbon dioxide reforming, as well as related utility systems.
