Barat Petroleum awards EPC contract for polyethylene plant

　According to Sinochem New Network, recently the Indian engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its onshore oil and gas business unit has received a significant order from India’s BPCL to build a LLDPE/HDPE production facility in the Bina area of Madhya Pradesh. 　　The facility is designed with two production lines, each with an annual capacity of 575,000 tons; once completed, it will become India’s largest LLDPE/HDPE flexible production plant. The project is carried out under a turnkey contract, with the scope of work covering the entire process from design to procurement, construction, and commissioning. 　　This project is a core component of BPCL’s Bina petrochemical and refining capacity expansion plan, aiming to build an integrated petrochemical complex and increase the refining capacity from 7.8 million tons per year to around 11 million tons per year. The project is in line with the Indian government’s strategic goal of promoting local manufacturing and achieving self-sufficiency in polymers. 　　L&T’s onshore business is a leading engineering contractor in India, with extensive experience in executing large-scale projects in the upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors. This partnership will further strengthen its market position in the field of petrochemical infrastructure development in India.
