According to a report from Sinochem New Network, CNPC Capital recently issued a statement stating that its controlling shareholder, China National Petroleum Corporation, intends to transfer 3% of its A-share holdings in CNPC Capital to State Grid Yingda Group, which is part of the State Grid Corporation, through the transfer of state-owned shares. CNPC Capital also disclosed another separate transaction: its wholly-owned subsidiary plans to acquire 100% of the shares in Yingda Futures, the futures platform under State Grid Yingda Group, for 1.129 billion yuan. The aim is to further enhance its comprehensive financial services capabilities and support the development of its core business areas as well as the real economy. The core value of this acquisition lies in achieving multi-dimensional breakthroughs through resource integration, thereby bringing dual benefits to industrial development and financial services. At the level of resource coordination, Yingda Futures is poised to become deeply integrated into China National Petroleum Corporation’s entire industrial chain. By taking into account the distinct risk exposures associated with various stages such as upstream extraction, midstream refining, and downstream sales, it can develop customized hedging strategies. Additionally, by integrating with CNPC Capital’s existing financial services, it is possible to create integrated solutions that combine financing with hedging, thereby ensuring that financial services meet the actual needs of the industry. Leveraging CNPC Capital’s extensive network of institutional and individual clients, Yingda Futures can quickly reach the enterprises upstream and downstream of China National Petroleum Corporation. Its deep expertise in the power industry complements perfectly China National Petroleum Corporation’s comprehensive energy strategy that encompasses oil, gas, heat, electricity, and hydrogen, providing professional support for the development of new energy businesses. Furthermore, the acquisition will effectively reduce overall transaction costs.
