In January, the environmental impact assessment report for the project aimed at developing high-pressure polyethylene and EVA production technologies at the Daqing Chemical Research Center of China National Petroleum Corporation – specifically the ultra-high pressure ethylene polymerization testing platform – was completed, and the project entered the approval phase. As announced by the Longfeng District Government of Daqing in January, efforts were made to deepen cooperation with institutions such as Northeast Petroleum University and CNPC Daqing Chemical Research Center. A roadshow for scientific and technological achievements in the province’s petroleum and petrochemical industry was held, resulting in 8 project agreements being signed. Additionally, construction of a super-high pressure ethylene polymerization test platform was initiated, thereby providing strong technological impetus for the upgrading of the regional industry. This project aims to establish a pilot testing platform for domestic ultra-high pressure polymerization technology, break the foreign technological monopoly, provide engineering data for the development of high-grade LDPE/EVA grades and the technical upgrading of industrial plants, and facilitate the localization of high-pressure polyolefin materials. According to reports from January, the intelligent virtual factory project for polyethylene production facilities, developed by Zhongkong Technology in collaboration with the Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals of China National Petroleum Corporation, was completed at the Daqing Chemical Research Center. This marks the transition from the construction phase to the stage of system integration testing and trial operation.
Leveraging the massive amount of data on multiple boundaries, dimensions, and grades from the polyethylene pilot plant, the project establishes a digital virtual test factory that integrates the mechanism model of the pilot plant with big data models. This project has significantly enhanced the Petrochemical Research Institute’s capabilities in technology development and engineering application in the field of polyolefins. On the one hand, by leveraging specialized devices and a fully digitalized platform, it is possible to conduct coordinated research on polyethylene catalysts, manufacturing processes, and product performance. This facilitates the acceleration of the validation and scaling up of research results from the laboratory stage to pilot-scale production, thereby significantly reducing the development time for new grades and technologies ; On the other hand, the large amount of data accumulated in smart factories will support research on process mechanism modeling, intelligent optimization, and product performance prediction, facilitating a shift in the research approach from experience-driven to one driven by the integration of data and mechanisms. During the project construction phase, the Intelligent R&D Acceleration Center was built, and steady-state process simulation, online optimization, catalytic dosage calculation, advanced control, as well as full-factor twin systems were put into use. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI)-based catalytic quantitative calculation techniques with process simulation technologies, complex polymerization reactions under different grades can be simulated, enabling functions such as production forecasting, development of new grades, and prediction of product properties. On this basis, the project integrates the Kunlun large model, simulation training systems, and complex control systems to accelerate the development of actual grades through virtual experiments. The factory also integrates cutting-edge technologies such as the industrial Internet, AI, and digital twins to establish an integrated intelligent management system based on the \"edge-cloud-end\" architecture.
