BP renews offshore oil and gas operation contract in Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea

　　According to Sinochem New Network, BP has recently renewed its long-term offshore operation and maintenance contract in the Caspian Sea region of Azerbaijan, covering the 8 production platforms at its ACG oil field and Shah Deniz gas field. 　　The contract renewal was agreed with Turan Drilling Engineering Company for an initial period of 5 years, with 3 one-year renewal options. The contract will take effect in March 2026, and if all options are exercised, its total value could exceed $1 billion. Under the contract, Turan will continue to provide operation and maintenance services for the offshore platforms operated by BP, including the Central, East, West Azeri, Deepwater Gunashli, West Chirag, Chirag, ACE, and Shah Deniz Alpha platforms. The scope of services includes personnel support, maintenance execution, spare parts inventory management, etc., and a dedicated team for asset integrity and structural maintenance is assigned. 　　BP stated that this renewal is aimed at supporting its long-term strategy for the efficient development of Caspian Sea resources, while strengthening local capabilities through partnerships with regional companies. BP has been operating in Azerbaijan for over 30 years, and will continue to give priority to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of its offshore portfolio.
