In the middle and late part of April, the renovation projects for Jinxi Petrochemical’s 700,000-ton reformed oil distillation unit and 350,000-ton aromatic compounds plant were successfully completed, marking the end of the construction phase for these projects. They have now entered the commissioning stage, laying a solid foundation for the early operation and effectiveness of these facilities. Based on the optimization and upgrading of existing facilities, this project focuses on high efficiency and energy savings as well as improved quality and productivity, while maintaining the original product structure. It emphasizes the optimization of the aromatic hydrocarbon extraction process, enabling efficient separation of aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene) from non-aromatic compounds in a single step within the extraction distillation tower. This approach significantly shortens the production process, reduces energy consumption, and boosts the recovery rate of aromatic hydrocarbons, thereby enhancing both process efficiency and economic benefits. After the renovation, the plant’s annual designed production capacity for toluene reaches 136,000 tons, while that for mixed xylene is 188,000 tons, thereby helping the refining industry move up the value chain to higher levels. Among them, toluene serves as a key raw material in various fields of fine chemicals such as coatings, inks, and rubber, as well as in the gasoline blending industry. It possesses excellent solvency and chemical stability, making it an essential building material for the production of numerous chemical intermediates ； Mixed xylene is widely used in industries such as chemicals, chemical fibers, plastics, and coatings; it can be further processed into end products such as polyester fibers and packaging materials, and there is strong demand for it in the market. At present, Jinxi Petrochemical is strictly following the established plan to carry out the subsequent steps related to the restart of operations, continuously strengthening the management of production processes.
