On April 22, Sinochem stated on its investor interaction platform that the 600,000-ton propylene oxide project at Sinochem Tianchen Quanzhou has been completed and is ready for operation; however, production has not yet begun. The initial plan is to start trial operations in May. According to the environmental impact assessment documents previously released, the 600,000 tons per year propylene oxide production project will be constructed by Zhonghua Tianchen (Quanzhou) New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd. The project covers an area of over 1,000 mu, with a total investment of 7.38 billion yuan; it is located in the Nanshan area of the Quangang Petrochemical Park. The total construction period for the project is 36 months, using the HPPO process. The project is implemented in two phases: Phase 1 involves the construction of 1×300,000 tons/year propylene oxide plant using the hydrogen peroxide method, as well as 2×450,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide plants (accompanied by 1×450,000 tons/year 50% hydrogen peroxide concentration unit). Meanwhile, auxiliary facilities such as raw material and product storage tanks, air separation and air compression systems, cooling stations, loading/unloading platforms, circulating water systems, condensate purification systems, accident ponds, main substations and plant transformer stations, mechanical and electrical maintenance facilities, chemical storage areas, flares, incineration units, and sewage treatment plants are also constructed. Phase 2 involves the construction of another 1×300,000 tons/year propylene oxide plant using the hydrogen peroxide method, as well as 2×450,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide plants (accompanied by 1×450,000 tons/year 50% hydrogen peroxide concentration unit), along with the installation of utility and environmental protection facilities.
