The 25th National \"Safety Production Month\" in 2026: Everyone talks about safety, and everyone knows how to handle emergencies; identifying and addressing risks and hazards. -------------------------------------------------- Recently, Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical has successfully developed ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) with a molecular weight of over 10 million, and the performance parameters of this product have reached international advanced levels. 　　Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties, and it is widely used in high-end manufacturing fields such as aerospace, ocean engineering, new energy equipment, biomedicine, and national defense and military industries. Among them, products with a relative molecular mass of 10 million offer significant advantages in terms of wear resistance, impact resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, self-lubrication, and light weight; they can also be recycled. However, their core technologies have been under foreign control for a long time. Based on this, Yangzi Petrochemical has successfully overcome a number of key technical challenges, including the large-scale production of new catalysts, by focusing on its own catalyst systems and proprietary new polyolefin production processes. After multiple rounds of experimental optimization, parameter tuning, and operational condition verification, the relative molecular mass of the product was finally stabilized at over 10 million. During the project development phase, the task force formulated detailed plans for testing and product inspection, monitored the key stages of the production process throughout the whole process, and strictly controlled the process parameters and product quality standards, ultimately achieving successful development of the product in just one attempt. 　　In the future, the company will continue to optimize technical parameters and continuous production processes, develop more types of high-end polyethylene products, and advance the industrialization of new materials with high added value.
