The Fusheng 55KW screw air compressor is set at 0.63MPA; the current during operation is 130A, which exceeds the motor’s maximum current of 124A. 60A during unloading. The motor head has just been serviced (but there are no current data from before the service), and the current drawn when the motor is replaced is still too high; the motor burns out frequently. Please help analyze the reasons.
1. Blockage of the minimum pressure valve: When the minimum pressure valve fails to open or opens incompletely, the pressure inside the oil separator increases, which leads to an increased load on the motor and results in the compressor motor overloading and stopping. 2. Clogged oil core: A blockage will result in an increase in the actual exhaust pressure of the unit, and it usually needs to be replaced. 3. Bearing failure in the air compressor’s main unit: Disconnect the coupling and try to turn the main unit by hand; if there is significant resistance or it cannot be turned, it is likely that the bearings of the main unit are damaged and need to be replaced. Bearing failures in the main unit can also cause problems such as difficulty in starting the screw compressor.
There should be no issues with checking the minimum pressure valve; there is no pressure gauge for the oil level, and since the machine head has just been serviced, it’s unlikely to be a bearing problem
