The chiller unit accounts for 60% of the energy consumption in an entire air conditioning system; therefore, improving its energy efficiency can lead to significant savings in energy use. One of the metrics used to indicate the energy consumption of a chiller unit is COP, so increasing this COP value is the most effective way to reduce energy consumption. The COP is closely related to the temperatures of both the chilled water and the cooling water. Therefore, improving the heat exchange efficiency of the evaporator and condenser helps to increase the COP. At the same time, enhancing the lubrication of the compressor is also important, as lubrication has a significant impact on energy consumption; otherwise, manufacturers would not produce magnetic levitation compressors. By improving lubrication and thus heat exchange efficiency, it is possible to increase the COP. We have implemented projects involving 3 million tons of cooling capacity, and have gained extensive experience in improving the COP. On the refrigerant side, we use refrigeration oil additives imported from the United States to enhance lubricity, remove accumulated oil films and carbon deposits, thereby raising the temperature of the chilled water. On the water side, physical water treatment equipment is employed; this, in combination with chemical water treatment, increases the heat transfer capacity of the condenser, thus helping to improve the COP. We are very willing to make our own contribution to energy conservation and consumption reduction in China.
Physical water treatment? Should a water filter be added? The crew was originally equipped with them. The heat exchange efficiency can be determined from the temperature approach value; it is generally within 5 at present. The heat exchange performance of the current units is already quite good, and further improvements in terms of energy savings through enhanced heat exchange would not yield significant results. Each type of oil is formulated based on the refrigerant and system temperature, to further enhance lubrication? I think it can save energy, but is it sustainable? Won’t the cost of those American additives purchased with that money exceed the amount saved on electricity?
