For reciprocating compressors, are there any standard requirements regarding the leakage rate of the oil scrapper rings?
The leakage volume on the low-pressure side at the oil scrapper ring should be very small!
Thank you for the reply! The compressor was recently overhauled. In the past, the oil scrapper rings were replaced whenever excessive leakage was detected; no relevant standards could be found. I’m not sure if the specifications for dynamic seals – no more than 15 drops per minute – can be applied here; does this level of leakage constitute an excessive amount?
There are two possible reasons for this leakage: one is the sealing ring； The second is the piston rod. If both factors are intact, there should be no oil present. This is the standard. If the oil leakage has no impact on safe production, then it doesn’t matter. Otherwise, oil leaks must be prevented. This is the standard.
There’s no standard for this, at least I haven’t seen one; if it affects the process medium, then it needs to be replaced.
