For fixed-speed centrifugal compressors, when the inlet and outlet pressures are different but the speed remains the same, is the surge flow rate different? What do the surge curves provided by the manufacturers correspond to? Could Haiyou upload one?
The surge line of a compressor operating at a constant speed is essentially a straight line; with the speed fixed, the pressure ratio between the inlet and outlet of the unit remains essentially constant
The outlet pressure is determined by the load after the compressor outlet. For example, by reducing the outlet valve, the pressure at the compressor outlet will increase, and the pressure ratio will rise as well.
Generally, the inlet pressure remains fixed and the same. When the pressure at the outlet rises to a certain value, the compressor begins to surge. Stall prevention often relies on outlet pressure for control; since the inlet pressure varies, it is not possible to prevent stall using only the outlet pressure.
