Compressor dry gas seal issues

Hello, experts! Our facility uses Ingersoll Rand centrifugal compressors. Recently, there have been issues with the dry gas seal; the leakage rate at the first-stage seal of the compressor was high before it started operating, but it returned to normal levels once the unit was started up. Why is this happening? Could everyone help me analyze this? Thank you!
If this phenomenon occurs after a normal shutdown, it may be due to a stuck sealing spring.
It is also possible that the sealing ring has aged; when the machine is in operation, the sealing ring expands due to heat and then regains its sealing capability
