The motor for the exhaust fan is purchased separately; its rotation direction must be the same as that of the fan. Is it the fan that determines the motor’s rotation direction?

The motor must rotate in the direction of the fan
Today’s motors are marked with left and right arrows indicating the direction of rotation; depending on how you connect the wires, that determines in which direction the motor will rotate.
The motor must follow the direction of rotation of the fan; otherwise, there will be no wind pressure or airflow
It’s unlikely that any manufacturer would go to the trouble of creating a fan that operates in the opposite direction to the motor~~
It’s sufficient to have the same rated power and frame number; just adjust the wiring for forward and reverse rotation of the fan impeller – modern AC motors can operate in both directions.
