The compressor of the cold dryer has frozen up – what’s the reason? I adjusted the hot gas bypass valve yesterday, and the ice melted. When I came to work today, I saw that ice had formed again. Could it be that there isn’t enough fluoride?

The compressor is supposed to compress the refrigerant from high temperature and low pressure to high temperature and high pressure. The fact that freezing occurs indicates that heat is being absorbed inside the compressor (similar to what happens in the evaporator). The refrigerant, after being cooled by the cooler, does not absorb any heat in the evaporator; instead, it expands and absorbs heat upon entering the compressor, which causes its temperature to drop. In such a situation, the compressor doesn’t need to operate at all – turning it off is sufficient
Check for any internal leaks.
This phenomenon is known as cold flow; the amount of cold energy that should have been absorbed within the heat exchanger but wasn’t indicates a problem with the heat exchange efficiency.
It is possible to measure the return air pressure to see if the expansion valve is opening too much Is too much fluoride being added? In this case, it’s definitely because the evaporator is not performing heat exchange.
Clean the evaporator and check whether the pressures shown on the high and low pressure gauges are normal
