Safety of oxygen compressors and the hazards of oxygen

I am now looking to purchase an oxygen compressor. Given that it requires a large volume of gas – 22,000 cubic feet – and has a high outlet pressure of 62 kg, it should be quite difficult to design such a compressor from a safety perspective. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I would also like to know more about the dangers associated with oxygen, and why its safety level is higher than that of methanol gas. Thank you
Oxygen is both corrosive and flammable; when designing equipment, does it require a higher explosion-proof rating compared to other media?
