We have two Shanghai Fei air compressors. When they were first turned on, an OPR over-temperature alarm occurred after about 20 seconds; after the alarm was reset and the machines were restarted, everything worked normally. Could someone please help us figure out what’s going on?
What fault causes the over-temperature alarms at the OPR and TCG temperature measurement points? How should it be handled? The reasons for high exhaust temperature in screw compressors include: 1. Insufficient amount of lubricating oil; 2. Insufficient cooling water volume; 3. High temperature of the cooling water; 4. High ambient temperature; 5. Clogged oil cooler; 6. Incorrect specification of the lubricating oil; 7. Unclean plate-fin heat exchanger; 8. Clogged oil filter; 9. Faulty cooling fan; 10. Faulty temperature sensor. You should check the following: 1. Check the oil level – if it is insufficient, stop the machine and add more oil; 2. Check the flow rate of the inlet and outlet pipes; 3. Check the temperature of the incoming water; 4. Increase ventilation to lower the room temperature and improve the surrounding conditions; 5. Check the inlet and outlet temperatures – a normal temperature difference is 5–8°C. If it is lower than 5°C, the oil cooler may be clogged; in that case, remove it and clean it with appropriate agents. 6. Clean with low-pressure air. 7. Blow the finned heat exchanger with low-pressure air. 8. Replace the oil filter. 9. Repair or replace the cooling fan. 10. Replace the faulty temperature sensor ; Going back to the beginning: “It will be fine in a bit”~~~ Okay~~~ There’s probably a problem with the probes of Fei and OPR.
