Where does the power for oil operation come from? (No circulation pump) 4. Are there any requirements regarding the quality, temperature, viscosity, density, etc. of the oil? 5. What are the precautions to take during operation? 6. What are the requirements for the pressure inside the reaction vessel and the pressure in the balance tank? 7. One more question: 8. Should the connection for the oil balance tank be at the bottom where the machine seal inlet is located, or on the side where the machine seal inlet is situated? Since our company currently uses a side-mounted inlet seal and a bottom-mounted outlet seal, which is theoretically the opposite of the conventional setup, we would like to raise this issue; we welcome everyone’s insights on the above matter! ! !

Mechanical seals equipped with balance tanks are mostly of the external pressure balance type; In addition to the force of its own springs, the operating pressure of a mechanical seal also relies on the pressure of the sealing coolant in order to balance part of the medium pressure; this prevents the absolute value of the surface pressure on the friction surfaces of the seal from becoming too high, thus ensuring the service life of those friction surfaces. Under normal circumstances, the operating pressure of the mechanical seal (= spring force + seal fluid pressure) is slightly higher than the pressure of the medium that needs to be sealed; generally, the difference between the operating pressure of the seal fluid and the operating pressure of the medium is set at 0.1~0.2 MPa. The function of the balance tank is to provide a pressurized sealing coolant under operational conditions, thereby enabling lubrication and cooling of the mechanical seal through a circulation process ; Secondly, pressure balance is achieved in the parked state by using the pressure of the medium inside the sealed equipment, thereby achieving sealing. The analysis is excellent. Our company uses enamel-lined reaction vessels, and no circulation pump is installed in the oil balance tank; heat siphon is presumably used to provide the necessary power. The horizontal distance between the seal fluid tank and the mechanical seal should not exceed 1200 mm, while the vertical height between the bottom of the seal fluid tank and the mechanical seal should be between 450–600 mm
