How does a self-priming pump work? What are the reasons why a self-priming pump does not draw in fluid?
The installation method in which the pump impeller is positioned above the liquid level may involve self-priming; the relevant technical terms include \"allowable suction vacuum height\", \"netsuke margin\", \"air locking\", and so on. In general, it is necessary to prevent air from entering the pump, and this is related to the saturation temperature and saturation pressure of the medium being transported; for example, when the actual temperature of the medium reaches its saturation temperature, air starts to cause problems. Alternatively, reduce the pump inlet valve to a sufficiently small opening, causing the pressure at the pump inlet to drop below the saturation pressure; this results in the medium vaporizing and the gas being released. If the inlet pipe leaks, air will also get in, and the volume won’t increase.
