One fan in the company’s incinerator requires a bearing replacement; there are two separate bearing housings involved. The bearing model is SKF 2220KM/C3, which is a tapered bore radial ball bearing. The original radial clearance was measured at 0.08 mm. I would like to ask the experts: is there a standard value for the radial clearance after installation? Are there any requirements for axial clearance?
As a supplementary note, the shaft is a solid shaft with a diameter of 90. The bearing is fixed to the shaft using a tapered retaining sleeve, and the nut is tightened until only a very small amount of radial play remains – is this considered acceptable?

The SKF 2220KM/C3 is likely an angular contact ball bearing, and should not be called a radial ball bearing. Unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise, it is generally sufficient to tighten the back cap with a hammer until it is secure during installation.
