The main function of a space heater is to maintain a high insulation resistance in the motor, preventing condensation from occurring due to moisture accumulation in situations where air humidity is high and environmental temperatures vary significantly; this helps avoid a decrease in the insulation quality of the internal windings as a result of moisture exposure
It’s mainly to keep the windings dry during shutdown; I’m not sure if it works when the equipment is running, but I think it doesn’t.
