The chiller in our facility is a York RWF-399E, a screw-type refrigeration unit. Recently, the oil level kept dropping, so whenever the oil level could not be seen through the sight glass, we would add oil. Yesterday, the experienced shift leader suspected that the oil return line at the bottom of the gas-liquid separator (the inlet for returning compressed air) was blocked. The oil return line was removed and the contents were discharged, and some rust-like substances were expelled as a result of the shock. The oil flow in the medium stage is smooth, but due to the negligence of the operator, the oil level is now above the sight glass, making it impossible to determine the actual oil level. I would like to ask: what are the potential hazards associated with a high oil level? Waiting online

Besides a reduced heat exchange performance, are there any other effects on components such as the evaporative cooler and the evaporator that come after the oil separation stage? Also, the increased return of oil to the compressor – does this cause any damage to the compressor?
Oil is present in the exhaust gas, and then the oil sticks to the back wall. There should be no increase in oil return to the compressor due to the second oil feed; there should be a valve for the main fuel injection – it’s likely a ball valve, which we refer to as the main fuel injection valve. This valve controls the amount of fuel injected, so even if the oil level is high, it won’t result in an increase in the amount of fuel injected. I’m actually quite curious about the malfunction you encountered earlier: if the oil outlet is blocked, why does the oil level drop? Is there any change in the oil pressure during operation? What type is the oil heat exchanger you have?
