One of our company’s gas reciprocating compressors has been out of service for 3 months. The starting current is now close to the motor’s no-load current; no pressure is applied at any stage, and none of the pistons have fallen off. The cranking is very light. The gas pipelines have been purged with nitrogen and are all unobstructed. Personal opinion: The replacement body is in good condition; gas can also be released from the front, and the inlet pressure at stage one is sufficient. I believe the impact of the pipelines is minimal. The cranking is very light, with no pressure; it is recommended to focus on the first cylinder ; The piston rings or valve seals are leaking severely. Severe grade 1 leakage disrupts the piston movement during intake and compression processes; as a result, no negative pressure or pressure buildup is generated inside the cylinder, leading to easy cranking. I’d appreciate everyone’s insights – what other possibilities are there?
Check the valve to see if the spring has rusted and prevented the valve disc from moving.
There should be a filter in front of the compressor; check whether it is clogged and clean it if necessary.
The pressure after the filter is normal, and the pressure before the primary intake valve is also normal.
Considering the stuck valve plate, we have 3 primary cylinders. There’s no pressure at all. If the valve were broken, would many faulty components be needed to cause such a serious impact?
I’m not sure what your equipment looks like; at each stage of installation, it’s necessary to check for leaks to ensure there are none, and the gaskets used must also be leak-free.
Since the air pipeline has been confirmed to be in good condition, it’s still advisable to check the working components, such as the piston parts and to ensure that all air valves are functioning properly
