Overhaul of vertical screw vacuum pump

Our company is performing major repairs on the vertical screw vacuum pump, as it was producing abnormal noises during operation with very high levels of sound. After disassembly, it was found that the synchronization gear was broken. The exact cause has not been identified yet; it is suspected to be caused by fluid hammer in the pump chamber. The technology behind these vertical screw vacuum pumps isn’t very mature at the moment; the feedback I’ve received from two customers I know is average in terms of quality. I’m wondering why vertical pumps aren’t used – after all, horizontal pumps have been around for many years and are relatively more stable
Were the horizontal gears made that way too?
The horizontal gear is fine; it’s just the rotor that rubs against the pump casing
Is it a pump from Beijing Langhe? Our factory used a similar model before; it was very poor in quality and required frequent repairs. It had sealing rings between its various layers, and if those seals weren’t installed properly, there would be severe leaks. We later switched to water-ring vacuum pumps produced by Foshan Water Pump Factory, and now they work without any problems at all
