Discussion on the slide valve and slider of screw compressors

I saw a post earlier; according to the users, the slider is used to adjust the internal pressure ratio while the valve is used to adjust the capacity. So can’t the valve and the slider be combined into one? It is possible to adjust both the capacity and the internal pressure ratio; both are located near the rotor, with the internal pressure ratio being adjusted at the intake side and the bypass flow being adjusted at the exhaust side.

The control methods differ, but the goal is the same. Some units have only spools without sliders, making adjustment simpler and the control somewhat rougher.
