There are certain parameters specified for centrifugal pumps: Max discharge pressure: 139 Bar (as per order); Required NPSH: 0.3 to 1 m. What does NPSH mean here? It would be great if it could be explained in simpler terms – the explanations available on Baidu are too theoretical and difficult to understand.

The excess energy per unit mass of the fluid at the pump inlet, above its saturated vapor pressure at that temperature, is known as the net positive suction head available, denoted by NPSHa!
The NPSH here should include the word “required” after it; it refers to the necessary net positive suction head for the pump, which is applicable to centrifugal pumps. Its own characteristic parameters are independent of the device’s piping setup.
