Under what circumstances will the pointer of a pressure gauge move to the other side of the zero mark? Can it still be repaired? Just changed it?
This situation only occurs when the pressure gauge shows an excessive reading; in that case, it has to be replaced.
In many cases, this is caused by sudden changes in the process conditions that lead to abrupt pressure changes (out of range), or by frequent pressure fluctuations that cause the pointer to loosen. This can be resolved by using a shock-resistant pressure gauge or by expanding the gauge’s range. There’s no need for repairs; after fixing the pressure gauge, it still needs to be calibrated. Without standard calibration equipment, it’s unnecessary to do so
Under normal circumstances, there is a limit pin at the lowest indicated pressure on the pressure gauge; under normal conditions, the pointer should rest against it at most. If the selection is improper and the equipment vibrates significantly, this limit pin is prone to falling off...
This situation represents an overload condition; in layman’s terms, it’s as if the gauge has been ‘overfilled’, and it can no longer be used – the pressure gauge needs to be replaced!
It’s definitely due to a pressure that exceeds the normal operating level; this issue usually occurs in reciprocating pumps or in series-connected seal oil tanks. Excessive leakage of the fluid leads to sudden overpressure, and once the gauge shows such high readings, it must be replaced
Over-range or rapid pressure drop under high pressure
1. It is caused by the pressure gauge exceeding its range. 2. Excessive pointer vibration causes the gauge pointer to stay in the lower position; it is best to replace the pressure gauge directly
