Question: In a MVR system, surge occurs when the steam compressor is started. How can this be resolved? During normal operation, if surge occurs, how to resolve it? Thank you
First, start by returning to a stable state; after that, analyze the reasons and address the issues.
Rattling as soon as it starts up? Check the peripheral piping and the startup guide vane angle.

Based on your description, it should be a centrifugal compressor. For surge at startup, the anti-surge valve can be opened, and as the frequency increases, the valve should be gradually closed. There are many possible causes of surge that occurs during operation, such as system leaks, sudden changes in the material being processed, fouling of heat exchangers, or blockages in the vacuum lines. If all these factors have been ruled out, then it may be due to an improper system design or insufficient surge resistance on the part of the compressor itself
