An electromagnetic flowmeter is a type of flowmeter that measures flow based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. Its advantages include extremely low pressure loss, a wide range of measurable flow rates, low cost, easy installation, high speed, high precision, stable performance, and low pressure loss. Its speed capabilities make it widely used in water handling applications. Most importantly, it is the best choice for measuring water flow; the properties of the fluid make it an extremely valuable tool for diagnosing tap water quality. Let’s first take a look at the characteristics of electromagnetic flowmeters: (a) simple structure, no moving parts, and reliable operation ; (b) Low pressure loss ; (c) The measurement accuracy is not affected by changes in physical parameters of the medium being measured, such as pressure, density, and viscosity. Accuracy is not sensitive to changes in the convective velocity distribution ; (d) Sensors with a diameter of less than 300 mm adopt an internal magnet structure, which is compact and rational, simple and reliable, with a long service life ; (e) Sensors with a diameter greater than 300 mm are manufactured through integral casting, combining the measurement tube with the housing into one unit; this provides good moisture and water resistance, making them suitable for installation in underground or humid environments ; (f) It is easy to install and use, with low requirements for the upstream straight pipe section.
