This post was last edited by yeying34 on 2019-3-17 09:34. The radial bearing temperature of the air compressor (multi-axis type, driven by a turbine) is experiencing significant fluctuations. Tests using instruments showed that there was a voltage of several dozen volts in the wires coming from the sensors. There are two monitoring points for each radial bearing; one of these points had voltage, while the other did not. Even after grounding for discharge, there was still a voltage of several dozen volts, whereas none of the other temperature monitoring points in the same unit had any voltage. The measurement on the second day was only a few volts, so it’s still too risky to connect it to the system. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? How was it handled? What are the harms?

First, test whether there is voltage with respect to ground. Mechanical probes are all powered externally, and this voltage with respect to ground is very important; I have even damaged equipment because of this. Also, if there is no voltage with respect to ground and only the two wires have voltage, then turn the device on and off separately and test again. If there’s no issue with shutting down the device when it’s turned on, then this problem can be easily resolved. If there is still power when shutting down, the problem becomes more complicated. Splatter it a bit first
Check the cable first; if that doesn’t work, replace both the probe and the cable
