1. The wastewater generated by the unit contains a sodium acetate solution at 18%-20% concentration. We now intend to use a three-effect evaporation (under vacuum) process to treat this wastewater and recover sodium acetate as a by-product. Currently, the heating temperature in the first effect is 110°C, with a vacuum level of -20 Kpa; the second and third effects rely on the condensate from the first effect for heating. The concentration of sodium acetate obtained as a result is not reaching 50%. What are the reasons for this failure to meet the desired concentration? 2.
