Our facility uses the ammonia-based desulfurization technology; the sulfur-ammonia medium is highly acidic, causing severe acid corrosion to the equipment and pipelines in the system. For the ammonium sulfide plant, the minimum pH value is 0.34, the maximum is 3.26, and the average is 1.61 ； This causes severe acid corrosion and wear on the equipment and pipelines of the ammonium sulfate plant, as well as on related valves, pumps, and other devices. I would like to ask everyone about the material selection for the evaporation and separation chamber, heaters, and organic pumps in sulfur ammonia plants.
What material is being used now? 316L?
316L or 904L; 904L is prone to erosion. 316/304 can be used for ordinary pipelines, and fiberglass can be an option when the pressure and temperature are not high
Currently, it is mainly two-way steel 2507
I have not worked with the ammonia-based desulfurization technique, but based on the production process of ammonium sulfate, it is recommended that the pH of the saturator be kept around 5.5; could this be beneficial for material selection?
