There are vertical and horizontal types; there’s no such thing as a “horizontal-vertical” type. The latter simply has additional bolt holes. Horizontal motors can be installed either horizontally or vertically, depending on the orientation of the base or frame – if the base or frame is horizontal, then the motor is installed horizontally; if it’s vertical, then it’s installed vertically. Vertical motors can be installed horizontally as well, but they can’t be called horizontal-vertical motors. Ask Jiamusi and Nanyang Motor about this – such a term doesn’t exist. Did that supplier come up with it on their own to trick people? Don’t fall for it. A horizontal motor, as the name suggests, is installed in a horizontal position, with its four feet pointing downward, meaning the four anchor bolts are fixed downward onto the base or frame. The motor rotor is parallel to the base or frame. In contrast, a vertical motor has its rotor perpendicular to the base or frame, and it’s also secured using bolts. Most vertical motors are fixed to the pump body or to transmission devices such as reducers, though some are also fixed to the base, like the oil pumps in hydraulic stations. Additionally, jet pumps don’t have motors; the circulation pumps used with jet pumps are usually centrifugal pumps that do have motors. They can be either horizontal or vertical, depending on whether the circulation pump is horizontal or vertical. Horizontal pumps are generally paired with horizontal motors, while horizontal pumps are usually paired with vertical motors.
