The inner ring of the bearing is stuck to the shaft; apart from breaking it apart, is there any other way?
Heat it with a gas cutting torch; if that doesn’t work, it will have to be demolished.
Put it on the lathe; the blade becomes so thin that it breaks as soon as a blow is applied
The bearing is stuck to the shaft – the inner ring of the bearing fuses together with the shaft due to high temperatures. The inner ring is very hard; I’ll tell you a method that has worked time and time again: remove the outer ring, balls, and cage of the bearing, then use a hammer to strike the inner ring forcefully in order to create cracks (cracks should appear after 2 or 3 strikes; make sure the shaft can withstand such force – if the shaft is too thin, do not try to strike it to avoid bending it). Turn the shaft 30 degrees and continue striking until the entire surface of the inner ring is covered with cracks; at that point, the connection between the inner ring and the shaft will be broken as well, allowing the inner ring to be removed easily. There’s a great trick that my dad learned while fixing cars. The cut made by the hand grinder was easily removed with a little force using a screwdriver.
The bearing definitely can no longer be used; the shaft needs to be protected. Use a manual grinding wheel for cutting – be sure not to damage the shaft. After making a cut, use a flat shovel to pry it open
