There is an exhaust-condensing turbine whose speed suddenly drops by 200 revolutions during normal operation. Before the speed decreases, the secondary oil pressure and the chamber pressure are normal; when the speed drops, the secondary oil pressure rises, while the chamber pressure increases after a few seconds delay. When the speed decreases, the pressure at the compressor flow outlet also drops, which rules out the possibility of a malfunctioning speed sensor. The question now is that when the rotational speed decreases, the pressure in the wheel chamber should also decrease. However, the wheel chamber pressure remains normal when the speed decreases. Which sea traveler has experience in this area? Please help analyze it. Thank you.
Please check the oil actuator and the throttle valve, especially to see if the holes on the small flywheel of the oil actuator are blocked
We also thought that the issue might be related to sticking, but now the pressure in the wheel chamber doesn’t change when the rotation speed decreases; this is what’s puzzling us. No matter how much sticking there is, the intake valve should eventually close, which would cause a change in the wheel chamber pressure.
If there is sticking, then the wheel chamber pressure should decrease.
In such cases, it is recommended to check the parameters of the steam inlet and outlet of the turbine, including turbidity, conductivity, hardness, as well as the levels of silicon and sodium. Check the water parameters of the deaerated water or boiler water for the past 2 months (accuracy is essential). If the speed decreases while the wheel pressure remains high, one possible cause is a problem with the blades; it could be due to poor water quality that leads to the formation of scale or other substances blocking them, or it might be damage to the blades (though this is less likely). If scaling occurs, consider low-temperature steam.

Dear sea friend, there is no issue with our steam, and the opening degree of the intake valve remains normal at the same load and speed; it’s just that the speed drops suddenly.
The compression medium is fine; we’re currently trying to figure out where the jamming is occurring. It’s possible that there’s a problem with the intake valve, resulting in periodic steam leaks.
