What component is indicated by the arrow in the diagram?
A waterproof ring that prevents water from leaking at the sealing location into the bearing.
A water seal, usually a rubber ring.

Water shield – to prevent water from seeping along the shaft into the oil
Pump water seal; I guess pumps these days don’t have this anymore.
The water seal or retaining ring of the centrifugal pump. Prevent water from entering the bearing housing.
