During operation, the compressor’s shaft shifted in the direction of the probe, and this shift became increasingly significant. Upon shutdown for maintenance, it was found that the locking nut was loose; after tightening it, the problem of a loose locking nut reoccurred after just over half a month of operation. I’m hoping experts can give me some advice.
What brand of compressor? Is there a floral pad behind the lock nut? Is the tightening direction of the lock nut thread opposite to that of the rotor, such that it gets tighter as it rotates? It would be best to have images so that everyone can answer questions; under normal design, this problem should not occur
If there is a balance piston, check the clearance below the balance piston as well as to ensure that all process holes are unobstructed

If so, the possible reasons are as follows: 1. The lock nut is not installed all the way down, and it does not make contact with the end face of the thrust bearing ; 2. The locking nut’s stop device (stop washer, stop mechanism) does not provide any anti-loosening function ; 3. The threads of the lock nut (the threads on the rotor) may be worn ; 4. High-frequency vibration occurs when the host is in operation ; It is recommended that the lock nuts be replaced each time the rotor shaft assembly is overhauled ; During the host maintenance, recheck the dynamic balance of the shafting.
It’s equipment from Shanghai Dalong; the reason has been found: the threads on the male rotor are damaged, and there are cracks in the shaft of the male rotor.
