One two-stage piston compressor in our plant stopped operating on February 19. The data on the relevant DCS at the time of the shutdown was as follows: Inspection of the compressor’s crank mechanism revealed no issues. The fault type is current overload; the trip current is 276A, and the rated current is 124A. I would like to ask the experts what causes this situation?
The parameters seem fine; could it be issues related to electrical engineering such as a missing phase in the motor or low voltage?
Just now, the same machine in our factory also stopped operating; the fault type was also overload-induced shutdown. The current level at the time of shutdown was 287A. The operating parameters were normal before the shutdown – it was just a sudden increase in current that caused the shutdown. It is an oil-free compressor with the model number 3LW-10/3-12.
Individual issues may be significant; some could include water ingress at cable terminals, grounding problems, and so on. Let’s start by checking the electrical appliances. Also, the overpressure in the process,,,。
The rated exhaust pressure is 1.2, and the exhaust pressure during shutdown is only 1.1; it should not be considered overpressure. After the skip, the primary exhaust pressure increases while the secondary exhaust pressure decreases.
Is it equipped with an inverter? Check whether there have been any fluctuations in the system voltage

After the appliance is reset, it can be turned on, but it stops working after running for a while. The compressor has also been in use for a few years now. The inlet and outlet valves were previously disassembled, and there is a self-polymer inside the valves.
