Before surface treatment of the substrate, weld beads and slag on the substrate surface are removed by grinding. Round off the sharp corners and edges, and remove all remaining flux from the metal surface. Then wash away all the grease and dirt from the metal surface using detergent or a solvent; metals with excessive grease should first be heated before being cleaned with a solvent. Be sure the substrate surface is dry before performing surface pretreatment. The metal surface is subjected to sandblasting; this process turns the metal white and creates anchor-like patterns on its surface with a depth of 47.5–50 microns (1.5–2 mils). The substrate after sandblasting requires further cleaning of its surface. The best method is to clean with a brush before applying the primer, and then use vacuum cleaning to remove all sanding media, dust, and dirt. Applying the adhesive: Shake primer N701 thoroughly to ensure it is well mixed. Strictly follow the instructions to prepare the N7013:1 mixture. Coating methods such as the N701 spraying method, brushing method, and dipping method are used to apply a coating 25–50 μm thick onto the pre-treated substrate surface.
