How should I deal with oil leakage from the breather valve of a reducer?
What is causing the oil leakage? Don’t just replace the valve just because of the cushion
Generally, there are two reasons for oil leakage at this location: first, the lubricating oil has shifted to a higher position； II. The lubricating oil supply pressure is too high. Solution: Adjust the lubricating oil level or supply pressure appropriately ； Increase the height of the breathing valve
Is the breathing smooth? Is there something blocking it?
The breather valve was tested with air and worked smoothly
Is the oil return not smooth, causing the oil level to be overall high?
Check whether the oil level is too high; you can increase the diameter and height of the breather valve tube. In the case of splash lubrication, you can also add an open oil baffle inside the upper cover during the next maintenance session. We’ve encountered the same problem as well, and it was solved perfectly using the method I mentioned!
You’re right about the 10th floor; I’ll do as you say. I agree with you; many gearbox covers are made in this way, as the oil is ejected due to the gears spinning. Find a large-sized angle iron, and at the opening of the chimney-like structure, weld one side while leaving a gap unfilled – keep some space open.
