Currently gasoline is being used, but due to the high oil prices, there is a desire to use other solvents for cleaning equipment components (such as gearbox gears and the main bearings of magnetic drives). These solvents need to be volatile and leave no residues, as some components come into contact with materials.
Are there any non-flammable cleaning solvents?
Non-flammable: dichloromethane, tetrachloroethylene; flammable: methanol, odorless kerosene – which are slightly safer compared to gasoline
