What do points A and D in the picture mean? What is the difference between normal speed and 100% speed?
Find the meaning of each point in HG/T3186 "Terminology of Centrifugal Compressors for Chemical Industry": Specify operating point A : The highest pressure point of the centrifugal compressor unit at 100% speed ； Normal operating point B: The design point of the centrifugal compressor unit. It is generally expected to operate at this point. Usually the unit has the best efficiency at this point; rated point C: The maximum flow point at any specified operating point of a centrifugal compressor unit at 100% speed. This is usually an imaginary point rather than an actual operating point. ； Specify operating point D: The maximum flow point of a centrifugal compressor unit at a certain operating speed.
Normal speed: The speed corresponding to the requirements of the normal operating point ； 100% speed: Above the normal speed, the highest speed required at any given operating point. If there is no specified operating point above the normal speed, 100% speed is the normal speed. For fans driven by electric motors, the 100% speed is equal to the product of the speed ratio of the transmission (if any) and the speed of the equipped motor.
