This marks a breakthrough achievement by our country in the field of large-capacity, high-parameter compressed air energy storage technologies and equipment. As the core power device in the energy storage and release process, this air turbine was developed by Shanghai Turbine Works, a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric. To cope with operation at high temperatures of 330°C, the R&D team innovatively adopted an optimized structure of \"counterflow high-pressure cylinders + dual-flow low-pressure cylinders\". This design incorporates a highly stable shafting system, efficient flow-guiding blades, a flexible make-up air system, and a reliable slip pin system, thereby significantly improving the thermal efficiency and operational stability of the unit under conditions of frequent start-stop operations, rapid load changes, and wide operating ranges. It meets the strict requirements of the project for efficient and stable operation of the core equipment. Leveraging the group’s advanced digital manufacturing and lean management systems, the project team implemented full-process “zero-defect” quality management. In the face of tight delivery schedules, Shanghai Electric has established special fast-track procedures internally and put in place an integrated cross-departmental supply assurance mechanism to ensure the high-quality delivery of complete sets of equipment.
