I would like to ask everyone whether the impeller in the picture is perforated by medium corrosion or cavitation corrosion. Have you ever encountered such a situation?
I don’t know what the material properties are. It feels like it is caused by a local physical explosion. For reference.
The medium composition, pump, and impeller material must be provided.
If cavitation occurs, it must be on the inner surface. Even if it is penetrated, it will start from the inner surface. You need to check the inner surface of the impeller and take photos. It has some characteristics. It can't be seen clearly from the outside.
Looking at the picture, it is suspected that there are hard particles in the media that are abrasive.
If there is cavitation, it is obvious that there are countless small cavities.
Machining weak spots in castings and adding balance turning results in thinning, which our unit has encountered.
It is not a perforation caused by cavitation, nor is it caused by media corrosion. It should be a quality problem with the impeller that needs to be rectified by the manufacturer.
It shouldn't be caused by corrosion. If it is caused by corrosion, there are no traces elsewhere.
No honeycombing, no cavitation, no general corrosion. It should be caused by casting defects, erosion and thinning, bulging with reduced strength, and axial friction during operation.
