On November 19, Shanghai Electric successfully carried out an independent upgrade of the hydrogen blending technology for its in-service large F heavy-duty gas turbines, as well as conducting demonstration tests for this technology. That night, technical personnel from various departments at Shanghai Electric Gas Turbine Co., Ltd. monitored the control panels in the brightly lit control rooms of Datang Haikou Clean Energy Power Generation Co., Ltd., and carried out the hydrogen blending tests on the AE94.3A gas turbine in an orderly manner. In this test, the hydrogen mixing ratio reached 7%, successfully enabling an independent upgrade of the hydrogen blending technology for the in-service large F heavy-duty gas turbines; during the test, all equipment operated stably with excellent emission levels. This is also the first time in China that a large-scale F-class heavy-duty gas turbine has undergone hydrogen blending combustion modifications and related research efforts, marking a significant technological breakthrough from \"0 to 1\" by Shanghai Electric in the field of hydrogen blending combustion for heavy-duty gas turbines in China. The gas turbine hydrogen blending project mainly includes a series of tasks such as burner upgrades, optimization of monitoring and control systems, as well as the provision of hydrogen blending skids and on-site installation and commissioning. Since the project was initiated at the beginning of the year, Shangran Company responded promptly. Based on its prior research into hydrogen-blended combustion technology and the data collected from bench tests, it developed customized burner upgrade and monitoring solutions for this project. Additionally, control strategies and protection logic were designed in conjunction with the hydrogen-blending units to ensure the combustion stability of the systems using hydrogen-blended fuel as well as the safety of their hardware ; Through the close cooperation of various departments involved in technology, services, and planned procurement, the on-site hydrogen blending modification work and commissioning were completed swiftly. The rapid progress achieved was highly recognized by the client, setting an example of collaborative effort toward success.
