I wonder how the spacing between the coil layers inside the device is determined; there must be a minimum value, right? Are there any explanations related to that standard? Is there anyone experienced who can give some guidance? Thank you! (Now we need a coil with DN50; what should be the minimum layer spacing?) )
One we just worked on had a spacing of 120, which is specifically related to the required temperature.
It is related to the heat exchange area; the spacing should not be too large to facilitate manufacturing...

We make sure it’s not too large; it should be shorter as long as the heat exchange area is sufficient. There are no special requirements; the typical spacing is around 30 (a size that facilitates easy assembly using U-bolts)
The flow of the material in the diameter direction also needs to be considered; if the spacing is too small, it will lead to poor flow in that direction, affecting the mixing effect. If a progressive mixing method is used, the spacing can be reduced, but the diameter of the center circle of the coil also needs to be adjusted accordingly, so as to create an effect similar to that of a guide cylinder.
For coils located in a stirrer tank, the spacing should not be too small, as this can affect the mixing efficiency; the dimensions of the coil structure need to be determined based on the required heat exchange area and the effective height of the equipment.
