Why should the setting pressure of the safety valve on a mobile pressure vessel be 1.05~1.10 times the design pressure of the tank? Such pressure is already higher than the work pressure – what’s the point? I need an expert to help answer this.
It’s normal to have higher working pressure; otherwise, how would it be used?

The design pressure should be the normal operating pressure of the product; the pressure-bearing capacity of the container should be higher than the design pressure, while the setting pressure of the safety valve should lie between the two
If it’s comparable to work stress, one won’t be able to work
If the setting pressure of the safety valve is not greater than the operating pressure, how can it function?
Perhaps the original poster doesn’t understand the differences between several types of pressure: maximum allowable operating pressure, design pressure, operating pressure, set pressure of the safety valve, sealing pressure, and tripping pressure. Especially for mobile containers, there are standard regulations regarding the relationships between these values. As for the principles behind them, it’s necessary to understand well the medium used in mobile containers as well as their operational characteristics
If it is below the maximum allowable operating pressure, there is no problem.

What the original poster might be asking is about values greater than the design pressure; there seems to be a difference between mobile and fixed systems, and I’m not familiar with mobile systems. The standard definitions should cover this aspect. It’s likely that the special characteristics of mobile containers need to be taken into account, as such containers experience pressure fluctuations and are prone to collisions. Setting the pressure too low would result in the safety valve activating frequently, which isn’t ideal. Moreover, mobile containers probably have a larger safety margin, so it’s not a problem if the safety valve operates at a higher pressure level
