As the title suggests, the material chosen is S30408. I would like to ask which standard this material is based on?
It mainly depends on the medium; generally, it’s 304
S30408 is the UNS designation for what corresponds to China’s 0Cr18Ni9 stainless steel material; it is the 304 stainless steel according to the American ASTM standard. The SUS304 in Japanese standards is an abbreviation for “UNIFIED NUMBERING SYSTEM”. It is a convenient numbering system jointly developed in 1967 by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), intended to replace or at least supplement the existing product designation systems for standards. Currently, this numbering system has been documented in SAE and ASTM standards for detailed explanation. The SAE standard number is J1086, the ASTM standard number is E527, and its name is \"Recommended Practice for Designating Metals and Alloys (UNS)\“. The numbering method in the UNS numbering system consists of a letter and five digits. The UNS numbering system makes it simple and straightforward to compare grades, but not all grades from different countries have corresponding or similar grades in the UNS numbering system. This is because the UNS numbering system essentially reflects the conditions in the United States, and the number of UNS codes available is currently limited. Additionally, different countries have varying requirements regarding alloy compositions and other aspects; as a result, many foreign grades from countries other than the United States do not have corresponding or similar codes in the UNS numbering system.
In accordance with the provisions of NB/T 47003.1-2009, the material standards referenced in Chapter 2 \"Normative reference documents\" can be used; for example, GB/T 3280 or GB/T 4237 can be applied for sheets of metal
If the toxicity level of the medium contained is extremely or highly hazardous, then even for pressure vessels at normal pressure, the NB/T47003.1 standard is no longer applicable; the design pressure must be increased to 0.1 MPa, and the vessel shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of GB150. In other cases, the selection of materials shall comply with the provisions of NB/T47003.1.

It’s not the factory mark; this is usually how such situations are handled. 0.1 MPa is the lower limit of the pressure range for which GB150 applies.

For stainless steel sheets used in atmospheric-pressure vessels, GB/T4237 can be adopted; alternatively, GB24511, which is specified for steel plates used in pressure vessels, can also be used
